ProjectUK (United Knowledge) in partnership with the National Black MBA Association Kansas City Chapter ® and the National Storytelling Network will introduce entrepreneurs who will share a moment in time about how they grew their businesses, their paths to success, challenges they overcame, and more.

Speakers consist of founders and business professionals; Chris Goode, Founder of Ruby Jean’s Juicery; Wlaa El, Seasoned International Fashion Stylist; Kevin Payne, Founder of TeraCrunch; Ben Lee, Publisher of Ben Lee comics; Carrie Bingham, Franchise Owner of Monkey Bizness; Amelia Ahluwalia, Chief of Operations of Niall; Robert Barrientos, Executive Director of the National Storytelling Network; and Natasha Griswold, CEO of Elder Hair Care.

Kansas City gained the title as one of the top cities for entrepreneurs worldwide (Kansas City Business Journal). However, 9 out of 10 of startups fail after three years (Forbes). Each business has existed for at least three years, and they have surpassed the national growth expectation.

“We want to connect the community with these seasoned entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and community members so they can understand what it takes to go beyond three years and make revenue. Running a company takes more than reading a book, it takes team building, community building, timing, and so much more,” said Director of Strategic Outreach, Rebecca Dove of ProjectUK.
