Today the Kauffman Foundation announced its support of eight local venture accelerators working to advance entrepreneurship through mentoring and access to resources and services that enable entrepreneurs to grow and scale their companies.
“Like our founder, Ewing Kauffman, we believe every person has a fundamental right to turn an idea into an economic reality,” said Nathan Kurtz, senior program officer in Entrepreneurship at the Kauffman Foundation who is managing this grant portfolio. “Strengthening entrepreneurship resources, such as these accelerators, breaks down barriers that make success and the realization of dreams possible.”
Over the years, we’ve been lucky to witness the growth of our local entrepreneurial ecosystem — and we’ve been honored to participate in that growth by connecting the resources of corporations with entrepreneurs, partnering with support organizations to unlock great content, and providing a physical location in the Crossroads for conversations and education.
As we look forward to the future, we are happy to be joining forces with the Kauffman Foundation and their entrepreneurship team to continue to provide valuable, open programming to entrepreneurs who are starting and growing businesses. We are grateful to have been selected to work with the foundation through the KC Accelerator Challenge — part of the Zero Barriers movement to increase entrepreneurial success.
Congratulations and thank you to all the organizations, which are bringing their unique resources to the ecosystem in support of entrepreneurs!
